He still remembered how Mandy, smiling as sweet as sugar, had casually ruined Quade.

The formal party was at night, but the whole thing ran two days and a night; today and tomorrow, everyone could roam the yacht and do whatever.

Since the Preston mess, Claudia hadn’t stood by the water with a clear head in a long time.

She leaned on the rail in the wind, watching the seabirds wheel by, a soft smile curling at her mouth.

Sterling watched her, eyes warm. “We’ve got a yacht at home, too. If you like this, I’ll take you out every year.”

Claudia looped her arms around his waist, eyes crinkling. “You know how to drive it?”

He arched a brow. “Of course.”

She swayed against him, piling on the praise. “Sterling, is there anything you can’t do?”

A small smile tugged at his lips.
