He hadn’t even opened his eyes yet when Lydiagritting her teethsnatched the folder off the table and tore it to shreds.

What the hell, Lydia? You crazy or what?!He wiped his face, grabbing her wrist before she could do more damage.

Her free hand came swinging back across his face. You call yourself a man? Pulling petty crap like this on me?!

Clarence was completely stunnedslapped, cursed out, and totally lost. What the hell are you talking about? What did I even do to you?

Lydia let out a cold laugh. You said you’d bring me along, but then you stuck me in a crew cabin while you stayed in a guest suite. You think humiliating me like that’s funny? I’ll remember this!

Just thinking about what had happened earlier made her skin crawl. She’d been taken to a low- deck room, only to walk in on a pudgy male crew member halfway through changingbefore she even had the chance to turn away. The image burned in her brain like acid.

Clarence’s mind was spinning. What the hell is she talking about?

The

guest rooms were assigned by the organizers! They’d pulled strings just to get on this yachtof course, they weren’t going to get private luxury suites. Still, even the regular rooms were decent. So why was she throwing a fit?

But Lydia’s eyes blazed as if she wanted to kill him. Just you wait!

She shot a glare at the shredded papers on the floor, stomped once, and stormed off.

Her reputation was already in the gutter anyway.

If Clarence wanted to humiliate her, fineshe’d drag him down with her. If she was going to sink, she’d make damn sure he drowned too.

Clarence didn’t chase after her. He just stood there, staring at the wrecked papers, pain cutting through his chest and face alike.

Nearby, Mandy raised her brows, spreading her hands in a smug toldyouso gesture, as if she was saying, See? Didn’t I say working with your family was a liability?

Clarence closed his eyes.

He couldn’t wrap his head around how Lydiathe same woman who’d once been so composed and elegant on stagehad turned into this loud, vindictive mess.

Another deal gone, another humiliation in front of everyone.

He sat back down, darkfaced, waiting for a waiter to bring him a towel.

By the time he blinked out of his daze, Mandy had already made her exit.

There was no way she was getting caught in his drama.

But as she reached the doorway, she suddenly stopped.

Meanwhile, in the lounge, Gabriel was sprawled out, grinning at his phone like an idiot.

He’d only gotten on this trip thanks to Mandy, and they’d made a deal beforehandhe could mess around all he wanted, but when she needed something done, he’d better listen.

Just earlier, Mandy had been fuming, cursing out the event organizers for being dumb enough to invite all these people onto the same yacht.

She’d been about to take action when Clarence showed up, forcing her to switch gears.

So, she’d sent Gabriel a message insteadtold him to talk to the organizers and make sure all these ticking time bombs got rooms far, far apart. The farther, the better.
