Chapter 62 Gowns and Gnocchi
Finished
That stunning face was a surprise in itself, and Claudia turned out to be warm and easy to get along with. She wasn’t arrogant at all.
Lisa felt most of her nerves fade away.
Since the two of them would be attending the events today, Lisa carefully asked Sterling about his style so she could match it.
To her surprise, he just shrugged. “Pick for her. I’ll go along with whatever she wears.”
Lisa’s heart gave a little jump. Clearly, Claudia mattered more than she thought.
“Ms. Lancaster, do you have something in mind? Or should we start with trying a few gowns?”
Claudia already knew what was expected of her. She had asked yesterday what kind of role she was supposed to play at the Romeros‘ family gathering.
Sterling’s reply had been short. “Arrogant. Very arrogant.”
That was all Claudia needed.
For a family gathering, the outfit didn’t need to be too formal, but it had to scream spoiled, bold, and dramatic.
For the evening, it would be her birthday party. She knew there would be drama, so a softer, more fragile look would win her sympathy.
Two completely opposite styles. Lisa’s mind was instantly filled with ideas.
She was excited and ambitious. “No problem! I’ll make sure you’re thrilled with the result!”
Lisa was a pro. Her sharp eye didn’t miss. With her guidance, Claudia quickly settled on her outfits.
For the family gathering, she chose a red off–shoulder, knee–length cocktail dress that was elegant and striking, yet still playful–not tacky, but full of charm.
When Claudia stepped out in it, Lisa’s eyes lit up.
Claudia’s fair skin glowed against the vivid red–perfect.
For the evening, Claudia picked a white gown that shimmered like moonlight. The skirt flowed gracefully, with diamonds glittering along the neckline and hem. Every step caught the light, making her look almost divine.

When Claudia lifted her chin and smiled, she stole the air right out of the room.
“It’s perfect! Absolutely perfect!” Lisa exclaimed, circling her in awe.
Each outfit was stunning. If it weren’t for Claudia’s complicated identity, Lisa would have introduced her to her friend, an international fashion designer, as a model.
Claudia would have been her muse.
The others around her couldn’t stop praising her either.
All morning, people bustled around Claudia. Sterling ignored everyone, walked into the kitchen, and started making gnocchi.
The sight of such a wealthy man calmly cooking at home made the staff sneak glances from time to time.
So the rich did cook for themselves after all.
No one dared to joke or stare at him. Sterling’s casual clothes looked simple enough, but his presence was still intimidating.
