Shattered Rose He Held On Tight novel Chapter 70

Chapter 70 The Incident

The sistersinlaw were always throwing shade. The maids sucked up to the powerful and stepped on anyone weak. Donovan, who was in charge, didn’t care about Isabella. And then there was Henry, hiding in the shadows with twisted intentions.

Quinton, who had seen plenty of beautiful women, fell for Isabella the moment he laid eyes on her. That alone spoke volumes how stunning she was.

Once, while trying to avoid Henry, she fell down the stairs and hit her head.

Nobody felt sorry for her. Instead, they called her a seductress, accusing her of luring men. Henry’s wife, Paula Romero, even dragged Isabella over and beat her up right in front of little Sterling, warning her not to mess with men.

When Donovan heard about it, he just had someone patch Isabella up and told everyone not to make a scene that would embarrass the Romero family.

He had too many kids and grandkids to care for and believed only the strongest deserved attention. A useless mother and son weren’t worth his time.

In a way, the whole Romero family had pushed Isabella to her limits. Everyone played the part

of executioner.

By then, she was barely holding herself together, only staying strong for her son.

She tried to end her life more than once. Sometimes, she lost control and even hurt her son, only to wake up consumed by guilt and selfhate. Her health just kept declining.

Grasping at the last bit of hope, she reached out to Macy, who was already married, hoping for help since Macy was her son’s aunt.

But Macy never answered.

When Sterling turned five, Quinton returned to the country with Winnie.

After three years, seeing Isabella completely broken and her son thin, gloomy, and covered in scars, Quinton fired all the maids who’d been taking care of them and finally agreed to a divorce.

The two of them got into the car together, along with Sterling, who clung to his mother, and Winnie, who didn’t want to miss her victory.

After years of waiting, Winnie was ecstatic to finally stand next to the man she had loved for so long.

She couldn’t hide her smugness, mocking Isabella for scheming her way into a rich family- only to end up miserable and drag her parents down with her.

Maybe even heaven wouldn’t let a villain get happiness.

As they hit the highway, Isabella, pushed beyond her limit, suddenly screamed. She climbed over the back seat, trying to grab the steering wheel.

The car slammed into the guardrail and flipped over.

That crash became Isabella’s escape. She died, but she shielded Sterling with her body, so his injuries weren’t too severe.

Quinton’s organs were badly damaged, keeping him in the hospital for almost a year.

Winnie lost the baby she had been carrying for three months and could never have children again. Her uterus was removed.

The whole situation ended in tragedy for all three of them.

After leaving the hospital, Quinton married Winnie.

As his only son, Sterling should have been treated well. But every time Winnie saw him, she was reminded of the child she had lost.

Her bitterness twisted her further, and she took it out on Sterling in every possible way.

She locked him in dark rooms, starved him, jabbed him with needles, and even held him underwater.

Quinton could stop Winnie sometimes, but not always. He knew she carried resentment.,As long as she didn’t go too far, he let her have her way.

Sometimes, the way his son looked at him made him shiver.
