She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 145

From Bryce’s perspective, bringing this many bodyguards should have been enough to deter even the most reckless would-be assassin. Surely, no one would be foolish enough to try something now.

“We have to get out of here. There’s someone hiding in the shadows,” Bryce said, his voice steady as he quickly assessed the situation.

“Yeah, let’s move—now!” Sabrina urged, her nerves on edge, a strong sense of foreboding creeping in.

Without another word, the two slipped into perfect sync, heading straight for the car where the backup bodyguards waited.

Just as their hands reached for the door handles—

Suddenly, a rush of hurried footsteps echoed all around them.

A gang of burly men, armed with baseball bats and iron pipes, burst from every direction, charging at them with murderous intent.

Bryce had brought eight bodyguards, but their attackers numbered at least twenty.

The bodyguards immediately formed a shield around Bryce and Sabrina. “Mr. York, get out of here! Leave this to us!” one shouted, bracing for the fight.

Bryce didn’t hesitate. He grabbed Sabrina’s arm, steering her toward the car.

But when he yanked the door handle, it wouldn’t budge.

Locked?

A surge of anger shot through Bryce. He kicked the door hard, the dull thud of his shoe ringing out in the chaos. Still, the door didn’t move an inch.

“It’s pointless. There’s a traitor among your men,” Sabrina murmured low, her tone grim.

The words hit Bryce like a punch to the gut.

He stared at the now-locked car door—and suddenly everything clicked.

For a moment, he looked at Sabrina in stunned admiration. How had she figured it out so quickly? If she hadn’t been here tonight, he might have walked right into disaster.

“We’re probably already surrounded. With this many people, it’s going to be tough. My phone’s jammed. Listen, I’ll cover you—when I say go, you run. Don’t look back.”

Bryce’s eyes locked onto the advancing figures, his expression unflinching. He understood the gravity of their predicament, but he didn’t waver. The future heir of the York family wasn’t just a title.

Who their enemies were, he still didn’t know. One thing was clear—they needed to get out fast.

But the attackers gave them no time to regroup.
