“Today’s just full of eye-openers,” someone muttered. “If anyone spread rumors about me like that, I’d have punched them right in the face. Honestly, Sabrina went easy on her.”
The classroom and hallways buzzed with gossip.
But Lacy and the rest of the Petersburg Four saw things differently.
They were rooting for Celine—if she won, it’d be like revenge for all of them.
Yet, as things stood, Sabrina seemed to have the upper hand.
The four exchanged anxious glances, keeping silent. They’d learned to be wary—Sabrina always seemed to hear everything, even the lightest whisper. No one wanted to get on her bad side again, so they swallowed their frustration and stayed quiet.
Celine’s face was frozen in a look of hurt, her hands trembling inside her sleeves. The relentless whispers and Sabrina’s aggressive attitude left her nowhere to hide.
Just then, the bell rang, rescuing her from the humiliating scene.
Celine, eyes red and brimming with tears, bolted from the classroom.
Most people figured that was the end of it.
But they were wrong.
Second period had barely ended when Celine’s inner circle stormed onto the scene.
Led by Elena, the trio barged in through the back door, radiating fury.
Elena was still nursing a bruise from Sabrina’s blow the day before, but she wasn’t about to back down. If she could, she’d pay Sabrina back a hundredfold.
Tiffany, Elena, and Uliana marched straight up to Sabrina’s desk, rolling up their sleeves as if ready for a fight.
