She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 208

She was the one who’d been hurt—so why was her mother the one hitting her?

Just as Sommer’s hand was about to strike again, Wallace appeared.

He turned his back and took the slap meant for Sabrina himself.

He said something then—words she’d never forgotten.

“Sommer, stop. Sabrina’s clothes are still wet. She’ll catch a cold like this. Whatever happened, talk to her calmly. You know Desmond wouldn’t want you disciplining the child this way.”

Wallace was the youngest son, and Grandma’s favorite.

Sommer had to give him some face, even if she wasn’t happy about it. So, though she was still angry inside, Sabrina was finally spared another round of her mother’s fury.

Wallace didn’t say anything else. He simply patted Sabrina’s shoulder, told her to go change into dry clothes, and reminded her to take some cold medicine.

The next day, Celine came to her in tears, finally explaining everything.

She said Elena had been in a bad mood yesterday. She’d mistaken Sabrina for someone else, which was why she’d pushed her into the river by accident.

And Sabrina had believed her!

How utterly foolish she’d been—hopelessly naïve.

Later, when Sabrina saw Wallace, she greeted him brightly, “Good morning, Uncle.”

She was perfectly at ease, as if there were no distance between them. Maybe that was the power of blood ties.

Wallace had seen the rumors online—half true, half false. But seeing her in person was different.

“My, you’ve grown so much,” he said, looking at the teenage girl in front of him, feeling a little dazed. The last time he’d held her, he’d barely been older than she was now. A dozen years had vanished in a blink.

“Come on, let’s go home.” Octavia had been holding Sabrina’s hand the whole time.
