Octavia remembered everything vividly; even after all these years, she could recite the name without hesitation.
Sabrina made a mental note to track down this Abbot when she found the time.
She couldn’t help but tease her grandmother.
“If I weren’t your real granddaughter, would you still hand over the shares to me?”
Octavia chuckled. “If you weren’t my granddaughter, then who else could it be? Even if you weren’t, I’d still choose you. This old lady still knows how to judge people.”
That very afternoon, something happened that Sabrina hadn’t expected: Grandma announced the inheritance of her shares in front of the entire Sutton family.
She declared that the shares would be transferred to Sabrina once she turned eighteen.
The news exploded through the family like a grenade.
No one had guessed that after only two days of being back, Octavia would hand something so important to Sabrina.
Everyone was taken aback—everyone except Wallace.
Wallace had his own company and some overseas investments; he didn’t need his mother’s shares. As far as he was concerned, his mother had every right to decide who should inherit them.
He didn’t want them, not because he didn’t care, but because he didn’t want any more bad blood between Desmond and Sommer.
But what he hadn’t expected was just how strongly Desmond and Sommer would react when the shares went to Sabrina.
Sabrina was stunned as well. Grandma had only brought it up that morning.
She’d never imagined the announcement would come so soon; in her previous life, she hadn’t received the shares until right before her wedding.
This time, everything was moving much faster.
Desmond’s brow furrowed. He had assumed his mother would split the inheritance between him and Wallace, but instead, she’d given it all to Sabrina.
Sabrina had only been back for six months—was that really enough to warrant such favor?
But soon, he came to terms with it. After all, Sabrina was his biological daughter. In a couple of years, if he wanted her to hand over the shares, all he’d have to do was ask.
The more he thought about it, the lighter his mood became.
Sommer, on the other hand, was fuming.
She’d been nothing but kind to Octavia, all in the hopes of getting those shares, and now they’d landed in Sabrina’s lap.
