She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 26

Both parties happily reached an agreement.

Just then, a server approached and placed a deck of cards on the table.

The cards were shuffled and cut. Every preparation was made with practiced precision, and the air grew thick with tension and anticipation.

The game began.

The server shuffled the cards with a calm confidence.

But the two men at the table didn’t spare the shuffling a glance. Instead, their eyes locked on each other, as if an invisible duel had begun between them.

The cards were dealt.

Both players leaned in, their attention razor-sharp, not daring to miss the slightest clue from every card that hit the felt.

The order of play, the value of each card—every detail sent a ripple of excitement and anxiety through the crowd.

Sometimes, a single card could flip the odds in an instant.

Other times, a careless mistake could put a player at a severe disadvantage.

It all came down to luck.

As the game unfolded, their expressions shifted with the flow of the cards—nervous, relaxed, exhilarated. Each emotion played across their faces, never settling for long.

Mason saw his first card—a red Ace of hearts. The furrow in his brow eased just a touch.

The second card: the King of hearts. Mason felt his pulse quicken. If the last card turned out to be the Queen of hearts, the hand would be his.

Across from him, Quill looked utterly composed. Not a flicker of emotion betrayed his thoughts.

The cards in Quill’s hand: the Ace and King of spades.

So far, it was a tie.

Everything depended on the final card.

As the third card was revealed, the tension in the room spiked.

Mason glanced down.

Queen of clubs.

A pang of disappointment. So close, and yet…

Still, the game wasn’t over. There was a chance Quill could fumble.

Without hesitation, Quill laid his three cards on the table.

Queen of spades.

A straight flush.

For a long beat, even Mason and the VIP guests around the table sat in stunned silence.

Then, two seconds later, the hosts, Celia and Xander, found their voices again.

All eyes turned to her.

She stood up and walked calmly to the center of the stage, poised and unhurried.

A ripple of surprise went through the guests—it was a young woman, barely more than a girl.

A fresh face.

She’d drawn the third round.

But now the crowd started to worry. It was rare for a woman to take part in a place like this.

Siren’s Club wasn’t known for mercy; anyone who broke the rules faced harsh consequences.

People exchanged uneasy glances as Sabrina took her seat at the table.

But despite her youth, she radiated a commanding presence—queenly, fearless, completely at ease.

“Well, it seems we have a beautiful lady at the table,” Celia remarked, eyeing the newcomer with curiosity.

She really was striking.

As the host of Siren’s Club, Celia knew all the heirs and heiresses from the old families.

But this one was new.

Maybe she was the latest darling of some powerful household? Celia tried to place her, but none of the names matched the face before her.
