Her thoughts were interrupted by the familiar chime of a message.

She picked up her phone and opened WhatsApp.

Messages from Stella and Bryce.

She clicked on Stella’s profile picture first.

Stella: "Just got home! Hope those people didn’t give you a hard time. If they did, don’t forget to go to your grandma—she’ll look out for you."

Sabrina quickly replied:

"Don’t worry, they’re all at the hospital. Nobody gave me trouble. Thank you for keeping my grandma safe tonight."

Stella: "No need to thank me, what are friends for? And one more thing—keep your distance from Bryce, okay? I worry he’ll be a bad influence."

Sabrina: "Haha, trust me, he won’t!"

Next, she checked Bryce’s message—a voice note.

Bryce: "Sabrina, tonight was close, but we made it. I brought those people back for questioning, so relax—I’ll make sure you get answers. And hey, spend less time with Stella, okay? With her wild streak, she’ll lead you astray."
