She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 300

But she and Sommer had been married for years—there was no way she’d be so petty.

Besides, he was here to accompany his own mother, not someone else. He’d go see Sommer soon enough.

When Desmond showed no intention of leaving, Hester’s eyes darted slyly. She quickly pulled out her phone and sent Sommer a message.

Sommer’s injuries were mostly below her neck; aside from a few scrapes on her hand, she was otherwise fine. Bored in the hospital, she spent her days watching short videos or bingeing on TV shows, anything to distract herself from the constant pain.

When the message came, Sommer was already on her phone.

Hester’s text read: Desmond’s down in Octavia’s room. Doesn’t look like he’s coming up to see you.

Sommer nearly exploded with rage.

She’d been stuck in the hospital for nearly two weeks, suffering through agony every day. Desmond had only dropped by a handful of times, always blaming work. And now he was here at the hospital—yet went to see Octavia instead of her?

A mix of hurt and jealousy surged up inside her.

Without thinking, she called Desmond on video chat.

When Desmond saw Sommer’s call, he stepped out of Octavia’s hospital room so he wouldn’t disturb her before answering.

“Hey, sweetheart. Where are you?” Sommer’s voice came through, tight with barely concealed irritation.

“I’m in Mom’s room,” Desmond replied.

“Then come upstairs and see me. I’m not feeling so great today.”

“I’ll come up after Sabrina gets here,” he said, hoping she’d understand.

Sommer’s frustration only grew; it sounded like another excuse. Was he just avoiding her because she looked so terrible now? The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.

“Let the nurse watch your mom for a bit and come up. I need to talk to you—something important.”

Desmond glanced back into the room. Octavia was lying quietly; nothing seemed amiss. He figured it would be fine to leave Hester in charge for a few minutes. After all, they were in a hospital—if anything happened, there were doctors nearby.
