She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 38

She was only three years old when her mother screamed at her to die.

To leave and never come back—ever.

She used to think that, at three, she couldn’t possibly remember such things. She never spoke of it, but that didn’t mean she didn’t know.

In her previous life, that blurry memory from when she was three… she blamed herself for it. She must have done something wrong to make her mother so angry. That was the only explanation for why her mother would say something so cruel.

But all she could recall was that one sentence—nothing more. The rest was lost to her, no matter how hard she tried to remember.

In Sommer’s eyes, Celine was always the perfect daughter. Celine was the only one truly worthy of being called her child. Sommer would defend her again and again, no matter what. As for her, whatever she said or did was always wrong—always. Even if Celine so much as sneezed, Sommer would act like it was something to be celebrated.

This kind of family love had already shredded her to pieces in her past life. Her efforts to keep the peace, her endless attempts to please, were simply taken for granted—just more opportunities for them to trample her dignity.

Each time Celine shed a tear, she became the “wicked older sister.” Everyone despised her for it. Her mother and father looked at her with nothing but disgust. Her fiancé stabbed her in the back. Even her closest friend ultimately stood in court and accused her of countless crimes.

And Celine? Celine simply stood by and watched her life fall apart, hardly needing to lift a finger—everyone revolved around her anyway. Suitors lined up, each more desperate than the last to win her over, ready to risk everything for a chance at her attention.

Sommer kept soothing Celine, shooting icy glares at Sabrina. “Stop with the sarcastic remarks—you’re ruining the peace of this family.”

Sabrina found it all both ridiculous and pathetic. She stared back at Sommer, utterly calm, feeling nothing at all. As far as she was concerned, it was just her bad luck to have been born to this woman.

“Enough!” Desmond barked, his voice sharp. “This afternoon, I’ll have my secretary set up a card for you. Buy whatever you want—don’t bother saving money. Take a few guards, and if you see something you like, just get it.”

Sabrina nodded. “Alright, I promise not to hold back.”
