She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 48

Sabrina’s jacket was an olive-green parka that couldn’t have cost more than fifteen dollars. Paired with thick, padded pants, her outfit looked wildly out of place in Port City’s most exclusive shopping mall.

But she didn’t seem to care. She strolled into a boutique and started browsing through the racks.

“Welcome!” The sales associate’s eyes briefly widened at Sabrina’s shabby clothes, but she quickly masked her surprise with a polite, practiced smile. In retail, patience and graciousness were the true tests of character.

Sabrina’s hair was swept up in a high ponytail, highlighting her delicate, almost porcelain features. Her eyes were clear and sharp, with a glint of icy indifference.

As the associate admired Sabrina’s striking looks, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pity—such beauty, wasted on someone who clearly hadn’t been born into privilege.

Still, she kept her enthusiasm as she approached. “This one’s lovely—plus, we’re running a special promotion, so these pieces are all discounted.”

She held up a dress with a practiced flourish. “How about this? It really complements your complexion, and it’s on sale. The original price was $1,400, but today it’s just $950.”

Sabrina’s gaze swept over the rows of discounted merchandise. “Which other items are on sale?” she asked.

The associate understood immediately—pretty as she was, Sabrina clearly wasn’t here to splurge. Even the discounted pieces in this store were top quality, but the one she’d just shown was the cheapest item they had. Judging by Sabrina’s outfit, it was probably all she could afford.

She quickly led Sabrina to the front row. “Besides those, everything along this rack is marked down. Some are end-of-season, so sizes are limited.”

She paused, eyeing Sabrina’s figure before flashing another bright smile. “But with your build, you’ll fit most of them. A slightly looser fit would actually flatter your shape—and it’s more comfortable, too.”

Sabrina didn’t mind the sales pitch. Maybe it had been too long since anyone had spoken to her so gently. To her own surprise, she found herself actually enjoying it.

She lifted a hand and pointed. “Aside from the discounted items, I don’t want anything in pink or green. Everything else—wrap it up for me.”
