Amelia’s pov
Truth is Mom always warned me about guys like Raiden. Intimidating. Think they can get what they want. Too handsome for their own good. And just a hundred percent cocky.
Stay far away from guys like that. Seventeen years I’ve done that. Seventeen years I have not failed to ignore guys like him.
But with Raiden, something was different.
It felt different and that scared me.
I tried my best to reel in my composure and tugged at my arm once more. “Is that a threat?” I glared into his stunning eyes, trying to not make those pools draw me in once more.
The grin that lit up his face made me clench down below. “That’s a promise love.”
Love.
I hated how the word sent a sharp shiver down my spine. I hated how the butterflies raging in my stomach flapped their wings more wildly. In general, I hated everything that single word from his mouth was doing to me.
“Get away from me,” I gritted and tugged my hand out of his hold more roughly. “And stay away.” He finally let me free, but his gaze entrapped me.
And then his lips lift into a curve of amusement and I wanted to smack him across his face, because even that made me feel
funny.
“And what if I don’t?” He teased, eyes dancing with amusement. “What if I don’t heed your warning?”
I narrowed my eyes. “Then I’ll knee you where the sun doesn’t shine and save the poor girl who will end up with you.”
He snorted, crossing his arms as the playfulness continued to play in his pools of green. “So you’ll be saving yourself from having my kids?”
My throat runs dry and I am stuck completely. Until a knock sounds at the door behind me and someone opens it. I let out a surprise sound as I am basically forced to step forward…into his arms.
Raiden instantly wraps his arm around my midriff and I am very sure he didn’t need to. Pressed up this close to his naked Lody while I could feel his distinct hardening member on my belly rattled me speechless
Entrapped in his gaze I forgot how to breathe Breathe Amelia Breathe
“Brother?” A small sweet voice smacks me back to reality “Who’s this?”
I swallowed, my eyes flickering down to the voice A young girl seeming to look a few years younger than Raiden stared at me while clutching the door half open
She looks so much like Emily that anyone will instantly know it’s her daughter Her pretty eyes, the same color as Raiden’s drop to her brother’s arm around my waist and I flushed, stepping out of his hold
I awkwardly cough and shift on my foot. “I um- I’m Amelia I-
*Amelia is a stalker who can’t seem to leave me alone ” Raiden’s playful tone made me snap my eyes to his and I glare at hus smirking face
He crossed his arms
1 narrowed my eyes
Rayne scowled and decided to not answer his question. “Anyway I came to let you know we have guests for dinner tonight,” her eyes flick to me. “But I see that you already knew that.”
I shifted uncomfortably and decided to speak up so she’d not get the wrong idea about us. “I actually was searching for the bathroom and stumbled here by accident. Can you show me the way please?”
Raiden chuckled behind me but I ignored him as Rayne nods. “Sure. Come I’ll show you.”
As I followed behind her, his voice teased behind me. “See you soon spitfire.”
I shivered and he wasn’t even close. I closed the door behind me softly and followed after Rayne who slowed down her pace so that I could keep up and we could walk side by side.
“Did you really stumble into my brother’s room by accident?” I picked up on the doubt in her tone and I surprisingly didn’t feel attacked
“Yeah, kind of forgot your mom’s directions.”
She nods, seeming to buy it a little “My brother isn’t a jerk and isn’t a manwhore, despite him trying to portray himself as such ”
My mouth parted in shock, not expecting her to use such a word. But she didn’t seem to notice my surprise and continued He has only shown interest in Dayna, despite my dad warning him about not having a girlfriend before eighteen ”
My brows furrowed with intrigue to know more “Why eighteen?”
Rayne flicked her pretty eyes over to me and stopped in front of a door “Let’s just say we have a little luck at that time to meet the one,” she shrugged. “Cliche, but maybe one day you’ll understand, seeing as you’re Giovanni’s daughter”
She nudged her head to the door. “Here’s the bathroom,” she starts to leave before I can question her further about what she had just revealed and says over her shoulder. “Nice meeting you Amelia
With furrowed brows, I opened the door and wondered what she had meant
