Amelia's pov
I am not sure why I felt so guilty walking the halls of Creek High but I do and it feels as though a huge weight is on my shoulder, tugging me down and preventing me from even looking straight ahead.
" Amelia!" I feel a sudden weight that is not the burden I had seconds ago come over my shoulders and glance to the side to see Foster smiling at me. He's cheerful this early morning.
I eye him suspiciously and his grin widens. " I talked Pickett into coming back to school today," he boast with a slight chirp in his tone. I smile, it's tight and almost a cringe because now I finally come to a realization of why I was feeling so guilty.
Pickett. I was an awful friend for kissing Raiden and now I had let him touch me in ways no one has ever. I reach my locker, putting the combination to open it. " That's great!" I try to keep my voice steady and not have guilt swim in my tone.
Foster nods eagerly. " It is, I know Pickett and I honestly thought she'd want to switch schools," he frowned.
My brows furrowed. " Switch schools because an ugly bitch likes to pick on those who are prettier?"
Foster leans on the locker next to mine, crossing his arms over his lean chest. " Raiden and his clique ran this school Amelia. If you're on their radar it's either bad or good for you. In our case, it's bad," he scratches his arm, looking embarrassed. " Look Pickett Mom blames you for what-
" What?" My jaw nearly drops on the floor and Foster winces.
" She thinks that you purposely went after Raiden knowing he was Dayna's boyfriend and now her daughter has to pay for what you did," Foster looks apologetic. " She called Dayna's parents last night to warn their daughter off but they told her it's you who caused her daughter trouble."
What the hell?
" I didn't do anything," I hiss low in frustration, my hands fisting at my sides. I can picture Dayna's face and how good it will feel when my knuckles kiss her cheekbone. I can already see the bruise forming.
I smirked inwardly.
" Amelia," his voice is smooth and commanding, making me swallow hard as a sharp shiver races down my spine. The entire hallway is quiet as their eyes are on us, waiting for what will happen.
I closed the locker with a bang, gripping my bag in a hard clutch as I turn around to leave, saying over my shoulder. " I'm late for class," I lied, smoothly ignoring Raiden. Everyone gasped in shock and murmurs begin to swim around.
" Oh my God, she just ignored Raiden," one girl whisper in disbelief.
" Who does she think she is?" Another girl sneers under her breath. I stopped in front of her and watch her swallow hard. I raise a brow challengingly and watch her cower under my glare.
I lean forward. " I'm Amelia, and if I were you I'd watch my mouth," I said bitterly, watching in satisfaction when she tries to move behind her friend for protection. Rolling my eyes I continue to walk, gritting my teeth when the murmurs of shock continue.
Are they so shocked I ignored their little prince charming? Good, because they'd better get used to it.
