Amelia’s pov

His hand was warm, the feeling alone sending jolts of electricity through the veins in my arms until my entire body could feel his touch. His thumb starts to trace little circles on my skin, and I am instantly aware of how much bigger his hands are compared to mine.

I swallowed once more. Hating him seemed to be more tortuous for me than it was for him. A shaky breath left my lips as I stare deep into his soul.

There’s a flash of something in his gaze, a flash of something wild and unknown. But it’s quick to leave, quick to hide away from me to understand such a strange emotion.

I gulped, my eyes shifting away from the pools that somehow undressed me and left me completely naked and bare. “It’s not like I had a choice….” I drawled while trying to keep the vulnerability he seem to push out of me, away from my tone.

My eyes on their own, slide down his straight nose to those lips I like to feel sliding across mine. “It seemed as though you’d hunt me down if I did,”

A sweet sound brushes through the air. A shiver races from the base of my skull down my spine. I bit into my bottom lip as I watch him throw his head back and laugh. Lines crinkle at the corners of his eyes, his pink lips part and he just seemed in the moment…..carefree.

He seemed way different than how I saw him the first day. The frown lines and the anger was no longer there and instead is replaced with something more pure. Pure enough to make me feel tingles tremble through my body.

I find myself staring at him for long, captivated by this side of him that I imagine to be rare. I listen to his laughter as it fills the air around us, watch his addams apple bob as he swallows and when his eyes settle back on me…..I sucked in a sharp breath.

Because the look in his eyes told stories, future stories that I was scared would become real.
