Raiden’s pov

Those words were not supposed to reach me but they do.

I hear every one of them.

Every single one.

And they….destroy me.

Fucking destroyed me.

My wolf roars in my head, pitiful with agony from being shattered by Amelia’s words. She blames me for being the cause of this which in a way I was. It was because of me Dayna did what she did. It was my fault.

And that alone made me feel even worse.

Raiden.‘ Mom’s command is sharper now and impatient, pulling me out of my pitiful thoughts. I glance at Amelia one last time, my eyes pinned on the way she stared at me in disgust. A stare that gutted my soul deeply.

It’s the look you give to a monster.

I rip my gaze away from hers before my wolf does something reckless that can further make her see me as what she thought of me. I swallowed the pain I felt, cradling my wolf inward so he doesn’t break.

So we don’t break.

I move away from the scene, following the string of my mother’s command that leads me to the school’s office where her, Damon and Lester stood in waiting for me. The principal was there too, seated in his chair yet his aura could not compare my mother’s.

A low growl rip from my throat, my fist clenching at my sides. Mom’s eyes drop to stare at my fists in worry. By the scent of copper that spread throughout the room I knew that my claws were piercing through my flesh. “Relax Raiden, your dad caught her.”

“You need to punish her,” I hiss low, my beast trembling to the surface.

I kind of expected that question but it still shocked me. Damon snorted” He was on his little date with the human.”

I sent him a sharp glare and he winces, looking over at Lester for help who rolled his eyes at him. “Date?” Mom’s voice

I stop, turning to the door just as dad appeared with an angry untamed Dayna in his grasp. Her eyes were wild, skating around the room hastily as if in search for something…someone. When those wild angry orbs land on me, they grew even more furious, more untamed.

“I am not done yet. She will be next,” her snarl rolled around the room as dad pushed her in fully and closed the door. “I won’t let her have you!”
