Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 461

Chapter 461

Even if Sharon were to present official identification under the name Jenna, Carter and Kelly could still easily dismiss it as fake.

As the eldest daughter of the Blakely family, Ginny had publicly acknowledged Sharon’s identity. Yet these two refused to believe her. They clung to their skepticism, grasping for any excuse to discredit Sharon. No wonder Sharon couldn’t be bothered to explain herself.

Kelly met Ginny’s gaze head-on. “You said it yourself, you’re friends with Sharon. It’s not unreasonable to assume you’re just trying to boost your friend’s reputation, right?”

Ginny, however, turned her eyes to Carter. “And you, Mr. Biggs? You don’t believe me either?”

Carter remained silent. His expression showed he shared the same doubt.

Ginny knew there was no point arguing further. “If you don’t believe me, then so be it.”

The rest of the meal passed in silence. The four of them ate quietly, barely exchanging a word.

When they’d nearly finished, Sharon started to rise to take her leave, only to be stopped by Carter’s voice.

“Ms. Blakely, may I ask what could possibly be so important that you can’t spare even a single day?”

He still hadn’t given up on persuading Ginny to appear as a special guest at Kelly’s concert.

Ginny was about to offer another vague response, keeping him at arm’s length, when Sharon, who had said little throughout the meal, suddenly spoke.

“Because she’s the guest performer at my concert. She won’t have time for Kelly’s.”

Ginny hadn’t mentioned it before, not out of fear of Carter, but because she didn’t want them blaming Sharon for her refusal.

She had grown up in a wealthy family and had seen too much of this sort of thing. Even if she turned them down, the resentment would ultimately land on Sharon.

It was simple: they didn’t dare take their frustration out on her, so they would redirect it toward Sharon.

Sharon knew this perfectly well. But she had already burned her bridges with Carter and the others. A little more conflict meant nothing to her now.

Carter’s brows furrowed slightly.

He had known that Sharon was also planning a concert, around the same time as Kelly’s. But it wasn’t as if she’d deliberately chosen the same date. After all, that period was considered the best time of the year to host such events.

After a moment of silence, he said, “Ms. Blakely, it’s not guaranteed that Sharon’s and Kelly’s concerts will fall on the exact same day. There shouldn’t be any scheduling conflict. If you’re willing, we’re more than happy to accommodate your availability.

At that, Sharon let out a cold laugh in her mind. ‘How convenient, wanting it both ways.’

He might not have been so brazen as to snatch Ginny from Sharon’s concert outright, but this underhanded tactic was no less disgusting.

Ginny shook her head. “Mr. Biggs, organizing a concert isn’t as simple as you make it out to be. Before the performance, I need to rehearse and coordinate with Sharon’s team. My schedule is completely full.”

Carter wasn’t foolish. He knew a guest performer didn’t need to be on stage the entire time. With careful planning, it was possible to appear at both concerts.

So he didn’t press Ginny any further. Instead, he turned to Sharon.

No matter how they had become friends, Ginny’s stance today was clear: between them and Sharon, she had chosen Sharon.

Which meant, to win Ginny over, he would first need to convince Sharon.

“Sharon,” he said, voice low and no longer as forceful as before. “Since Ms. Blakely is your friend, naturally she prioritizes your concert. But for Kelly’s event, she would only need to appear briefly, for a single piece. It wouldn’t take up much of her time.”
