Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 463

Chapter 463

After Sharon and Ginny left, Kelly said softly, “Carter, Sharon refused… What should we do now?”

Carter remained silent for a few seconds before replying, “Invite someone else.”

Kelly instinctively bit her lip. She was reluctant. “But…”

Carter turned to look at her. “Unless you can persuade Ginny, or convince Sharon to give up, you don’t have other choices.”

Sharon’s dislike for Kelly had never been a secret. And Ginny wasn’t someone ordinary-getting her to compromise was nearly impossible.

As for Sharon…

A dull ache tugged at Carter’s lower abdomen. 1

Her tolerance for him had already reached its limit. If he pushed her again, she just might go scorched earth. She was Theo’s mother. He didn’t want them to become mortal enemies. 1

Kelly lowered her head. “Since she’s Sharon’s friend… let’s forget it.”

After leaving the restaurant, Sharon took Ginny on a stroll around Amstern City.

Ginny had grown up in Marcentine, and although she’d visited Zachemaine before, she’d never really explored it.

Melanie and Carol, on the other hand, had both grown up in Zachemaine. Since they had an extended break, they took the opportunity to catch up with old classmates and childhood friends.

Just as Melanie reunited with one of her closest childhood friends, her father gave her a call.

“Melanie, I heard you’re on vacation in Amstern City?”

“Yes, what about it?” she replied.

“Well, a friend of mine… his girlfriend is holding a concert soon. He was hoping you could attend as a special guest.”

Melanie played the cello. Despite her young age, she had already made a name for herself in the music world.

Her father had once entertained thoughts of arranging a strategic marriage for her, but seeing her accomplishments, he had dropped the idea. Her success brought far more prestige to the family than any marriage alliance ever could.

For him to personally make the call, it meant the other party carried considerable weight.

Melanie frowned. “When is it?”

Her father gave her the date.

She rejected it on the spot. “No way. One of my best friends is holding a concert at that time too. I already promised I’d be there for her.”

Her father was puzzled, “Your best friend? I haven’t heard anything about Ginny or Carol holding a concert.”

Given the reputation Ginny and Carol had in the music scene, if they were hosting a concert, word would’ve spread fast. Even his business partners would be asking if his daughter would appear as a guest.

He had always approved of her friendship with Ginny and Carol. Especially Ginny from the Blakely family–without Melanie as a bridge, a family like theirs wouldn’t even have the right to speak to the Blakely family.

“It’s not them,” Melanie said breezily. “It’s another close friend of mine. Anyway, I’m busy now. Gotta go.”

And with that, she hung up.

Meanwhile, Carol encountered a similar situation. Only, her brother was much more blunt.

“Carol, the person who wants to invite you this time is Carter Biggs, the CEO of the Biggs Group. We just finalized a partnership with them. It wouldn’t look good to turn down his request. I don’t care what plans you’ve made during that time. Cancel all of them.”
