Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 475

Chapter 475

After Kelly sent Carter and Nate away, Sharon had already guessed she was up to something shady again.

So, without a sound, she quietly opened the voice recording app on her phone.

Truthfully, she’d had a bad feeling earlier-ever since Kelly had called and asked her to come over, she suspected trouble. Kelly had suffered too many losses at her hands lately.

Even though Kelly managed to seize Sharon’s studio and force her into composing music, she’d paid a steep price of 10 million

dollars.

Despite all her smug gloating, Kelly hadn’t really gained the upper hand. If anything, Sharon had come out on top.

With Carter’s payout, she’d essentially become a minor tycoon overnight, with more than enough capital to start over.

In hindsight, if someone had offered that kind of money to buy their studio before all this happened, they might have agreed. After all, no one in their right mind turns their back on that much cash.

But the buyer this time was Kelly and Carter. There was no way Sharon would hand over what they wanted so easily.

After a few rounds of clashes, Sharon was sure Kelly wouldn’t back down. Kelly would strike again. So, Sharon came prepared.

Kelly’s schemes were never exactly brilliant, but she wasn’t stupid. She had a knack for staying out of the mess herself, preferring to manipulate others into doing her dirty work.

What Sharon didn’t expect was for Kelly to push her into the lake with her own hands.

Even if the surveillance cameras were disabled, there was always a chance a witness might’ve seen something from an unnoticed corner. If that happened, Kelly’s sweet and innocent persona would shatter beyond repair.

And yet, she still chose to take the risk.

That only meant one thing-after being repeatedly humiliated, Kelly had finally cracked. And the more desperate she became, the more likely she was to make mistakes.

However…

Sharon glanced at the water-drenched phone in her hand, a faint glint flashing in her eyes.

There was one thing she hadn’t anticipated-her phone had gotten wet. She’d tried to turn it on just now, but it wouldn’t boot up. 1

Though she’d indeed recorded their entire conversation, exposing Kelly on the spot was out of the question.

Still, Sharon didn’t panic. As long as she could get the phone repaired, the recording would be intact.

Her gaze shifted back to Kelly’s face. Kelly was already starting to lose her composure. A little bluff wouldn’t hurt.

Nate, unaware of the real situation, was still yelling at the top of his lungs. “If you’ve got the guts, then play it! What are you scared of?!”

Sharon ignored him and turned to Kelly instead. “Are you sure you want me to play it, Kelly?”

Panic flickered in Kelly’s eyes.

She had no doubt that Sharon would’ve recorded their exchange. This wasn’t the first time. In fact, now that she thought about it, Sharon seemed to always be secretly recording whenever they met.

How had she forgotten something so critical?

Recalling what she had just said moments ago, cold sweat broke out down Kelly’s back.

If Sharon played that recording, Carter would be thoroughly disappointed in her.

Even earlier, she’d already sensed a shift in his attitude. He no longer rushed to her side, no longer instinctively believed her without question.

He hadn’t scolded Sharon either. He just asked her to apologize and implied the matter would be over.

It was blatant favoritism.

Kelly clenched her fists unconsciously.

Then, lowering her head slightly, she softened her tone and donned a gentle, submissive demeanor.

“Nate, let it go. Carter’s right. With the concert coming up, we shouldn’t stir up more trouble. Since he’s already spoken, I’ll listen to him.”
