Chapter 575
After Sharon and Richard left, only four people remained in the living room: Rick, Victoria, Carter, and Theo.
Suddenly, Rick spoke.
“Carter, when you asked Victoria to help invite Ginny as a special guest for a concert, was that for Kelly?”
Carter nodded. “Yes.”
Rick’s expression darkened.
“You didn’t know about our connection to Sharon before, so I let it slide when you came to us for help. But now that you do, let’s not bring it up again. We’re not the kind of people who would betray our own sister just to do a favor for a mistress.”
Victoria turned to Carter, startled. “Carter, so the one Ginny agreed to appear for… was Sharon?”
Carter didn’t deny it. “Apologies. At the time, I wasn’t aware of your relationship with her. I thought you didn’t know each other, so I didn’t mention it.” 1
Victoria considered that and realized he was telling the truth. She nodded. “It really was just a misunderstanding. But…
“Rick is right. If we help you with this, we’d be publicly humiliating Sharon. So… I’m sorry. If there’s anything else you need from me in the future, you can come ask then.”
She hadn’t expected Carter and Kelly to compete with Sharon over the same guest performer. But no matter the reason, Victoria wasn’t foolish enough to go against family just to do someone a favor.
Carter fell silent for a moment, then said, “Kelly and I aren’t as entangled as the rumors suggest. Yes, we were together once, but since the day I married Sharon, I’ve never thought about rekindling anything with her. She’s terminally ill, and I owe her a great deal. That’s the only reason I’m doing everything I can to help her fulfill her final wishes.”
His voice was calm and cool, his face composed, striking in its quiet steadiness.

“I can promise you that ever since marrying Sharon, I’ve never been unfaithful. There’s been nothing improper between me and Kelly.”
Theo followed her without hesitation, and the two left the villa.
Carter gave a slight nod to the Kalen siblings before turning to leave as well.
But just as the three of them were about to get into the car, a surprised and cheerful voice suddenly rang out.
“Carter! Theo! You came to see me?!”
Sharon looked up.
Kelly had appeared in front of them at some point.
“I heard from my housekeeper. She was out buying groceries and said she saw your car. I didn’t believe her at first. But here you are!”
She looked genuinely delighted and immediately reached out to take Theo’s hand.
