Chapter 770
Uriah asked, “Where did you get this ointment?”
Sharon hesitated for a moment before answering, “Theo gave it to me.”
Uriah nodded slowly. “I imagine Theo meant well. Most likely, he was deceived.”
Sharon frowned. “Why do you say that?”
Uriah explained, “The formula of this ointment is extremely precise. The ingredients used are of the highest grade… something
only a skilled physician could put together. That means there’s no chance of it being a careless mistake.”
Sharon immediately understood his implication. The extra ingredient in this ointment had been deliberately added.
And its purpose was clear-to leave her scarred.
Theo would never do such a thing. The most likely culprit… was Kelly.
“Fortunately,” Uriah went on, “you haven’t used it for long. If too much time had passed, once the scar set in, it would’ve been
nearly impossible to remove. Later, you’d have no choice but to undergo surgery.”
“Thank you. I understand,” Sharon said softly.
“Don’t use this ointment anymore,” he advised. “I’ll prepare a new one for you.”
He checked her hand again, then added, “I heard from Wendy that you’ll be competing next week. I’ll make sure you’re fit to
participate.”
A warmth spread through Sharon’s chest.
She personally escorted him out of the hospital.
As she watched his retreating figure, she hesitated, then said, “What happened with Damien… it has nothing to do with me.”
She worried he might misunderstand. Though she had her differences with the Malcolm family, Uriah had never wronged her. On
the contrary, he had helped her time and again.
Uriah waved dismissively, already understanding. “I know it wasn’t you. I know your character, you’d never do such a thing. As for
Damien…”
His expression turned indifferent. “At my age, after treating countless people, I’ve long grown used to life and death. Such things
no longer matter to me.”
Seeing that he truly bore no resentment, Sharon finally felt at ease.
Instead of returning directly to the ward, she found a quiet corner and called Theo.
“Mom!” His delighted voice came through the line.

Chapter 770
“Have you had dinner yet?” she asked.
“I already ate. How about you?”
“Yes.” After a pause, she asked, “Theo, I called because I wanted to ask-where did you get that ointment you gave me?”
“It wasn’t bought,” he answered. “Someone gave it to me.”
“Who gave it to you?”
His tone wavered with hesitation. “It… it was Dad who gave it to me.”
He had promised Julliard not to reveal the truth, so saying it came from his dad should be fine. After all, Julliard and his dad were
friends.
When Sharon stayed silent for too long, Theo grew uneasy. “Mom, is the ointment not working?”
Not wanting to burden her son with adult concerns, Sharon quickly reassured him. “No, it’s very effective.”
It was true-the ointment worked, and it wasn’t real poison. But Carter’s intentions remained a mystery.
After ending the call, she returned to the ward and told Wendy what had happened.
Wendy’s first reaction was, “Do you think he could have done it to help Kelly?”
Sharon frowned. “Even if it left a scar, it wouldn’t affect my strength. I just can’t see his reason for doing this.”
Wendy leaned closer, whispering a theory. “Then… maybe Carter wanted you to scar. Maybe he doesn’t want other men chasing
after you?”
