“Yes, and what should we do with the worker?”
“Fire him. Make sure he can only turn to Helena.”

Josephine had been lying in bed for two hours, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
The photo of Zachery and Dr. Harrington together hovered vividly before her eyes, impossible to shake off.
Wilfred had previously looked into Claire: she was married, her husband was from Vexford, and he was a doctor.
All the information matched perfectly.
She had found her benefactor’s family, could finally repay the favor, and should have felt relieved to have settled this matter.
But why did her heart feel so stirred up inside?
Unable to sleep, Josephine simply got up and went to the study to work on chip architecture designs on paper.
When she was upset, only work could calm her down.
As dawn approached, Josephine managed to get a little sleep.
When the alarm went off, she ignored it, ended up oversleeping, and had no time for breakfast.
Not seeing Josephine in the dining room, Zachery sent her a message out of concern: “Did you have breakfast?”
Josephine, in a taxi, replied: “I woke up late, already on my way to work.”
After arriving at the company, Josephine worked with her colleagues on architecture, functional partitioning, and overall layout, among other things.

Once she got busy, she didn’t even have time for lunch.
Theodore placed a meal set in front of her, still as sparing with words as ever.
“From Mr. Keller.”
He set it down and left.
Josephine opened it to find steamed chicken wings with mushrooms, stir–fried with shredded pork, and tomato meatball soup.
She planned to eat quickly, so she picked up the soup bowl and took a sip.
It was scalding hot.
She couldn’t spit it out, nor could she swallow.
green beans
She held it in her mouth for a few seconds, and two blisters formed on her tongue…
Josephine grabbed a tissue to wipe her mouth, shooting a resentful look at Theodore.
This kid, couldn’t he have warned her?
Just then, Theodore happened to look over as well.
After catching Josephine’s reproachful gaze, he indifferently looked away again.

Rose Manor.
As soon as Belinda got home, she called Wilfred, telling him to come home early because she had something to discuss.
Wilfred asked her to say it over the phone, but she refused.
Wilfred had no choice but to postpone the X3 Chip front–end design meeting to the next day.
When Wilfred got home, he saw Belinda and Helena sitting on the sofa, playing with a tablet.
Seeing Wilfred return, Helena thoughtfully went over to help him take off his suit jacket.
“Fred, it’s going to rain the day after tomorrow and the day after that, so Noble Elite Junior Summer School has moved the parent–child activity up to tomorrow.”

“Belinda is really looking forward to it and keeps insisting we wear matching family outfits.”
“Matching outfits?” Wilfred walked over to Belinda.
“Didn’t you say you didn’t like wearing them?”
Josephine had once bought matching family outfits, in a trendy and sweet–cool style.
But Belinda didn’t like them and threw them in the trash.
At the time, he said that if the child didn’t like them, they wouldn’t wear them.
Josephine didn’t say anything, just picked them out of the trash, washed them, and donated
them.
Belinda declared righteously, “That’s because Mom doesn’t know how to buy them. I like these ones.”
Wilfred took the tablet Belinda handed him.
It was a sparkling starry princess dress.
Wilfred pinched Belinda’s cheek and said, “Little princess, this kind isn’t suitable for a sports day. Besides, your mom wouldn’t wear it.”
