Tempted Trapped and Too Late to Run novel Chapter 873

Was he seriously hoping she’d wake up just to grill fish for him?

Clara had picked a ton of wild berries yesterday—enough that she didn’t have to go out again today. So, with all those leftovers, she just grilled up more than a dozen fish for him.

But she felt awful. The moment the fish were done, she shoved them into his hands and crashed right back to sleep.

He grabbed five fish in one hand, six in the other, and started chowing down like it was nothing.

Right before Clara passed out, her last thought was, Wow, this guy can really eat.

She, on the other hand, had zero appetite. Ever since she’d seen those human remains in the underground factory, the thought of eating meat made her stomach turn. She figured it’d be a long time before she could stomach it again.

She could feel heat spreading through her whole body, like she was burning up from the inside out. Her skin felt so dry, it was like all the water in her had evaporated.

If she really died here, it would be such a waste.

When she woke up again that afternoon, her mouth tasted bitter, like someone had shoved something in there while she was out.

She opened her eyes and saw the experiment subject sitting right next to her, trying to force some mashed-up herbal concoction into her mouth.

It was raw, straight-up herbal juice—so bitter her stomach lurched.

He just clamped his hand gently over her mouth, making sure she swallowed it.

Clara gagged a few times, but nothing came up.

He watched her for a few seconds, making sure she didn’t spit it out, then finally relaxed.

She was too wiped out to argue, so she just let herself drift back to sleep.

She slept straight through to the next day. When she woke up, she actually felt better. Looks like the herbs he found really worked.

She stretched, walked down to the creek to wash up, taking her time. That’s when she noticed a few freshly killed rabbits nearby.

He wasn’t rushing her now—just stood there, quiet as a shadow.

Chapter 873 1

After the explosion and all that rain, a landslide was coming down from the hilltop.

“Clara!!”

She barely heard the shout—her heart leapt as she turned toward the sound.

But the ground was rolling and shifting so wildly, she could barely keep her footing. Humans were nothing against the power of nature.

Milo and Buddy came tearing up to her, barking like crazy.

Chapter 873 2

Chapter 873 3

The ground kept shaking beneath their feet. This was no time for secrets—but there was nothing they could do except keep moving.
