Chapter 24.

Leo’s pov

Listening to my baby sister speaking her mind to Derick, listen to how little she value her life, listen to how she think she is a burden, listen to her crying, all of it was tearing me apart.

Going from her happy laughing self how she was this morning with this branch team, to have her so scared and worried because she is coming home with us it is shattering my heart.

I looking at Rex and dad and I see they struggle with this themselves and all of us just wanna reach through the phone and take her into our arms.

After listen to Angelina sobbing a little while, Derick told her he would be right back, he said he would find some more water for her, then he picked up his phone and got out of his office.

Derick: “So you all heard how that went, and I know you are my bosses and you know I would never do anything to disrespect you, but I have to say this” I heard Derick tell us through the phone.

Derick: “You all better treat her with utmost respect, care and love. Our princess need to learn to love herself and it is your job as her family to do that, and all of us are here for you all, but seeing her so broken down, I can’t handle hearing or see her like that ever again! She is our princess and she always gonna have a smile on her face!” I heard the anger in Derick’s voice.

And if it wasn’t for the fact that he is standing up for my baby sister to make sure we treat HER right I would not hesitate to put a bullet in him and he knows that.

It was hard enough to just listen to her breaking down and cry like that, it must be even harder for him to see it. Yes she is our baby sister but she is the only American mafia princess and that holds a lot of weight.

That means that she is more important than me or even Rex that is the Don of the American mafia. Mother held the title as mafia queen, but when dad stepped down her title was taken.

It will be given to the person Rex will marry, and even though moms safety is still incredible important, the mafia princess is still the most important one.

And she will remain the most important one even when Rex marry someone and we get a mafia queen again, and still more important than the people any of the rest of us brother marry. It is because she is the true blood of the Vitoro she is the glue that hold us all together.

All these years she have been lost to us, we have all been down a dark path, been ruthless, emotionless and you can even say heartless. The only thing that have kept us going was that one day we would find

Angelina again.

The thought of finding her and get her home have been what have saved many of us from taking our own life, me included. So hearing her crying like that truly broke me.

And as I was saying it must have been even harder for Derick to see her like that. He know the value she

hold in the mafia world, he know that his duty as a member of the mafia is now all to Angelina!

That means that if he see anyone and I mean anyone hurt our princess he have the right to take care of it, even if it’s one of us, he have a right to end us if we hurt our princess.

Derick – “As said i didn’t say that to be disrespectful and I apologize if it come out like that. But seeing her so broken man it’s tearing my heart apart!” he finish with his voice laced with sadness.

Rex – “You know you don’t need to apologize for standing up for the princess Derick. I will let you get back to her, and we will go and make this world a little better for the princess getting rid of some cockroaches. And we will see you in about five hours ready to take the princess home.” Rex said with his usual stern voice but I could hear the sadness in his voice, not because of Derick and his words but from the impact Angelina’s breakdown had on him.

Derick – “Give them a few hits from me too, and I will see if I can help Angelina to be more open to give you all a chance and not feel like a burden!” He finish with a more collected voice then he had not long

ago.

Rex Thank you Derick, see you in five hours.” Rex said as he hung up the call.

You could hear a lot of people giving a heavy sigh all at once, that was a tough call for many of us. I know that had a big impact on myself, Rex and dad, she is our baby, our light.

I remember how much love and sunshine she brought into our life before she was taken. But the branch. team here have had time to get to know her, they have been spending time with her.

And from the look of how they treated her this morning they care so deeply about her like she is their own real sister! I know how hard it is to see my brothers struggle and that is tearing me up.

We have always from diaper stage learn that family is everything so we truly value that. They treat Angelina just like I treat my own brothers.

“Maybe we should take some time and call home, get them up to speed on what happened and tell them we found her, have Doctor Phil tell us all we need to look out for and what to avoid going forward. We all heard how she broke down, and we can’t let anyone of us make her think she is a burden!” Dad said in his

usual stern voice.

But both me and Rex could hear the worry in his voice, I’m sure he just as much as everyone here never want to hear Angelina like that ever again, and I be damned if any of my brother bring her to tears like

that.

“I will help as best as I can Boss” Phil said. Dad looking at him and give him a short nod. Then I take out my phone and called Luca. It didn’t take many ring before he picked up.
