The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy! novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24: Taste of Your Own Medicine

Meanwhile, in Function Hall Three, Ida, a young woman with thick glasses and a short stature, approached a middle-aged man seated behind a long table alongside others.

"Director Sarian, if Taz can’t make it, I don’t think we should delay this further," one of the people among them frowned. "We respect that Taz’s input in the casting is important to capture what his audience expects, but we cannot keep delaying this."

"I agree with him, Director Sarian," a middle-aged woman nodded. "We need to begin now." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Director Sarian, wearing nothing but a simple white shirt and slightly worn-out jeans, paired with a head cap to cover his balding head, darted his eyes between the two. A shallow breath escaped him just as Ida, his apprentice, approached.

"Director, for some reason, Taz isn’t answering her phone anymore," said Ida worriedly. "I even asked the bouncers, and they said they didn’t see Taz come in."

The frown on Director Sarian’s face deepened. "Do you think she left?" he asked.

After all, Taz wasn’t the type to leave immediately, not when she had already spent her time out. She already said she was here. Even so, Director Sarian knew he couldn’t keep wasting time, no matter what he thought.

"Try calling her again," he said. "Maybe she got lost, or she’s idling somewhere else. Find her and escort her here."

"Yes, Director."

"Okay!" Director Sarian clapped loudly, looking up. "Let’s start with the audition. Make sure to keep the camera rolling so Taz can see them later!"

And with that, the audition began, even without the most important panel member.

At the Lion Square Hotel Suites...

Silo trod carefully to the short corner seats placed by the floor-to-ceiling window. The twins weren’t seated, but rather, leaning on the cushion with their arms while their small feet tapped on the carpet.

"Ahem!" he cleared his throat, enough to make the twins look away from the city view toward him. He smiled, holding documents in his arms—the real documents.

Today, Lola would return the twins to their father. So, Silo didn’t want to miss his chance to regain his dignity by showing them the proper documents.

"Kids, so you see, about the documents you checked..." he trailed off, his brows shooting up in surprise as the twins suddenly frowned a little. He stuttered a bit nervously. "Wha—what? What? I haven’t even started yet."

"Uncle Silly, where’s my mommy?" Chacha tilted her head, the usual bubbliness in her voice almost gone. All that remained was the natural innocence in her tone.

"Ahh..." Silo smiled, thinking the twins just suddenly missed her. "Lola is just working, but she’ll be leaving the audition in an hour. She already told me that."

After all, Lola planned to take a short break and drop off the kids by six.

Second pressed his little mouth, studying the oblivious look on Silo’s face. When he turned to his sister, he could feel that Chacha felt this sudden unease in her heart.

The twins went quiet and looked away, with Second saying with disinterest, "Uncle Silly, if you already fixed what Chacha and I suggested in the documents, then we don’t need to look at them again."

"Also, we said we believe in you," Chacha hummed, gazing at the city view quietly. "You’re going to be okay, Uncle."

Silo’s face twitched, gazing at the twins’ backs.

The heck is that tone?! he mentally lamented. I just want to show you guys I’m not as bad as you think I am.

Yet, the twins seemed uninterested and weren’t giving him a chance to redeem himself.

Silo sighed heavily, gazing at the printouts in his arms. "Goodness... they’ll just think I’m the silly uncle." He then dragged his feet away, knowing he should keep these documents safe. They may not be the original copies, but he also knew they were important files.

As Silo left the twins, Second suddenly turned to Chacha.

"Chacha, I feel like Mommy is in trouble," he said.

Chacha pressed her lips. "Should we check on her?"

"I’m worried about her. Mommy is always so kind, and with how pretty she is, she might get kidnapped and sold to be another kid’s mommy."

"Second, look!" Chacha pointed at the A4-sized printout plastered on Function Hall Three, which read: [The Angel’s Revenge Audition Ongoing.]
