Noah looked at the two men and said, “You must be Borg and Cedric, right?”
At his words, both Borg and Cedric froze. “How do you know who we are?”
Noah’s voice was steady, his eyes sharp. “I’ve seen you before. And I know you went to see Crystal. Let me guess—you’re doing this because Crystal owes you money she can’t pay back? So she told you to kidnap us instead?”
Borg and Cedric stared at him in shock. They hadn’t expected this kid to know so much.
But Borg didn’t bother denying it. “That’s right. She’s the one who sold you out to us. So if you want to blame someone, blame your dear aunt. She’s the one who got in debt and couldn’t pay up…”
He made sure to pin all the responsibility on Crystal, ready to throw her under the bus if things went south.
With their confession out in the open, Noah fell silent.
“Alright, time to record the video,” Borg said, pulling out his phone. He turned to Ethan. “Say what I tell you to say.”
Ethan met his gaze. “What do you want me to say?”
Borg thought for a second. “Tell them you’ve been kidnapped, and your grandparents and mom need to get the ransom ready.”
Ethan nodded coolly. “Okay, I get it. But how much are you asking for?”
Borg held up two fingers. “Two billion.”
Ethan frowned, his small brow furrowing. “Two billion? But didn’t Aunt Crystal only owe you one billion? Where’d the extra billion come from? Planning to pocket the rest for yourselves?”
Borg was caught off guard by how sharp the boy was, but he didn’t miss a beat. He scowled, raising his fist in warning. “Enough questions. Just say what I told you. If you keep running your mouth, I’ll shut it for you.”
