THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 362

“She’s Grandma’s own granddaughter. Of course Grandma’s fond of her—it’s only natural. I’ve never wanted to compete with Freya for anything.”

Beep beep—

At that moment, Amanda’s phone chimed.

She pulled it from her purse and stood up. “Ann, you chat with Tammie for a bit. I have something to take care of. I’ll come by again this evening.”

Ann had a private nurse keeping an eye on her, so she didn’t need constant supervision.

“Okay, Mom.”

Amanda nodded to Tammie as well, then picked up her bag and left the hospital room.

Ann turned to Tammie. “Tammie, I heard Freya’s back today. Why didn’t you stay home to spend time with her?”

Tammie replied, “There’s nothing for us to talk about.”

Even though Caitlin hadn’t done anything wrong, just knowing she’d been divorced—and maybe even gone through a miscarriage—made Tammie uncomfortable. It felt like she hadn’t taken her responsibilities to the family seriously. The thought left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Ann let out a sigh, her face full of guilt. “It’s all my fault, Tammie. If I’d known, I never would’ve told you about Freya’s divorce. If I hadn’t said anything, maybe you two wouldn’t be so distant now.”

Tammie immediately shook his head. “Ann, this is between me and her. It’s got nothing to do with you.”

After taking care of things at the university, Caitlin spent another two days with Fortune Kensington. She taught her grandmother how to shop online, and then it was time to head back to the city.

Two o’clock in the afternoon.

Her flight landed right on schedule.

As Caitlin made her way toward the arrivals gate, a voice called out.

“Miss Kensington!”

She turned and saw a familiar face.

Farrell Ryan.

Caitlin blinked in surprise. “What are the odds?”

“I know, right? What a coincidence.” Farrell’s grin was wide—he genuinely hadn’t expected to bump into her again, especially so soon after their last meeting.

Without hesitation.

He was still processing it when Caitlin said, “Well, I’ll be going, then.”

Farrell watched her walk away, lost in thought.

“Excuse me, could I add you on WhatsApp?” Just then, an attractive young woman approached him, her confidence matching her looks.

Any other day, Farrell would have welcomed the attention. But today was different.

He glanced at her, then shook his head with a polite smile. “Sorry, I don’t have my phone with me.”

Normally, he never said no to a pretty girl.

But after meeting Caitlin, no one else seemed to matter.

He was determined to win her over—no matter what.

Beep beep—

Farrell’s phone rang again, the same familiar ringtone. He frowned and picked up. “Yes, I’ve arrived in the city. But I’m not going to see the Gonzales family, and I’d appreciate it if you’d stop trying to convince me. If you bring up Miss Gonzales one more time, I’m not coming back.”
