The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1909

Asa let out a dry chuckle, his voice as cold as ice. “I’m not here to save the world. Why should I care about anyone else?”

The doctor flinched a bit—he knew all too well about Asa’s ruthless nature. Compassion wasn’t even in Asa’s vocabulary.

Realizing he couldn't change Asa's mind, the doctor nodded and wheeled over a high-tech machine, pulling out a tangle of wires. “Alright, let’s start by checking the data on the chip at the back of your head.”

Asa gave a casual nod and shut his eyes.

One by one, the wires were attached to his head. Before long, the screen lit up, showing a progress bar that steadily climbed to 100%, then switched to a 3D model of a brain.

The doctor typed rapidly on the keyboard. After a few moments, his face lit up with excitement.

“The chip successfully captured your brain data, and it’s stable. If this surgery goes well, we’re looking at a groundbreaking ability to transfer someone’s entire essence into a new body.”

Imagine if a dying person could have their consciousness moved into a healthy body. What an incredible leap in technology that would be! This was leagues ahead of cloning. The doctor, buzzing with enthusiasm, double-checked everything and said, “I need to remove the chip now.”

Asa’s eyes remained shut, but his brows relaxed slightly. “Make it quick,” he replied.

“Alright,” the doctor said, telling an assistant to ready the anesthetic.

“No need,” Asa cut in.

Getting James here was all part of a well-laid plan. Knowing the skills of Miss Mira from the Davis family, they’d likely show up soon.

He had to finish the surgery before that happened.

The doctor’s eyes widened. “It’ll hurt a lot,” he warned.

The chip sat at the back of Asa’s head, requiring an incision to remove.

“Just get it done,” Asa insisted, with a faint smirk. After years of enduring constant pain, this was nothing.
