Cedrick got angry. “In this lawful society, do you think you can just do whatever you want?”

But the lead bodyguard said, “No, sir. We are civilized and polite. We’re very reasonable. We would never hit someone in broad daylight.”

We are polite and civilized bodyguards. If we’re going to beat someone up, we’d put a sack over their head and do it in the dark.

He wasn’t getting on this elevator.

What was even more infuriating was that these people knew who he was, but he had no idea who they were!

Fortunately, after Lucille returned, she had turned on her domestic phone card.

He called Lucille.

But Lucille didn’t pick up.

So he had to text her instead: Lucille, I’m in the first–floor elevator lobby. I brought soup for Grandma, but I can’t get up. Can you tell them to let me through?
