Just then, the phone Lucille had left charging after dinner blinked to life on the nearby table.
Cedrick’s gaze locked onto the boot–up screen–and the message that flashed afterward.
He snatched the phone, swiped it open before Lucille could react, and tapped the video Aydan had sent.
The clip showed Lucille and Aydan performing the Romantic Ballet Duet. Aydan lifted her effortlessly, the pair soaring as if flying together.
Have you ever seen Lucille dance?
The question echoed in Cedrick’s mind as his shadowed eyes fixed on Lucille.
But Cedrick didn’t say anything, just handed the phone back to Lucille, then started eating with his head down.
The food wasn’t to his taste, but he ate three bowls of rice.
Grandma was surprised, “Cedrick, how long has it been since you last ate?”
Lucille glanced at him, probably thinking he hadn’t been able to eat or sleep since last night?
After all, his beloved was sick, he hadn’t eaten for a whole day and night, so naturally everything tasted good.
But Cedrick said, “Grandma, your cooking is just too delicious.
Grandma smiled upon hearing this, “You’re both so busy, otherwise, come over when you have time, and I’ll cook for you.”
“Grandma.”
Cedrick held his bowl, still savoring the food, “There are some homeowners selling houses in our neighborhood, how about we buy you a place there?”
Grandma waved her hand with a smile, “No need, I’m fine living here, surrounded by familiar neighbors, it’s convenient to grow fruits and vegetables in the countryside, and I can mail them to you later.”

Chapter 33
Actually, this wasn’t the first time Cedrick had suggested this idea, back when Grandma had a fall, he proposed buying her a place in the same neighborhood, but Grandma refused then too, saying she was used to the countryside.
But privately, Grandma told Lucille, “You can’t demand excessively just because you married Cedrick; he has money, but he earned it through hard work, it wasn’t blown in by the wind.”
“Alright.”
Cedrick finished the remaining soup, sighed contentedly, “Even more delicious than Mylee Hopkins’s stew, Grandma, do you have some secret trick?”
“Silly.”
Grandma was amused by him.
Lucille thought about it, in this world, Grandma was probably the only one who dared to call Cedrick ‘silly‘?
And Cedrick didn’t mind at all.
If there was anyone who was her support in this marriage, it was only Grandma.
Grandma genuinely cared for Cedrick.
Not because Grandma particularly valued Cedrick, but because she hoped for reciprocity- she treated Cedrick well, hoping he would treat her precious granddaughter well.
After dinner, Grandma started clearing the dishes, Aydan got up to help, unexpectedly Cedrick also rushed to help, in the end Cedrick won, carrying the bowls into the kitchen, quickly taking over the sink, still dropping that line, “I’m not a guest!”
Grandma actually felt a bit embarrassed.
Lucille held Grandma back, “It’s fine, let him go.”
At this point, she was committed; if he wanted to wash dishes, let him, if he wanted to mop the floor, let him, squeezing out the last bit of his remaining value was fine, she even thought of agreeing to buy Grandma a house!
Grandma wasn’t like her insatiable parents!
Grandma deserved it!
