Lucille knew what he was doing–showing off his wealth in front of Aydan.

Grandma refused to take it, but Cedrick directly put it into her drawer, “It’s from Lucille and me to honor you.”

After saying that, his gaze turned to Aydan.

Then, he wrapped his arm around Lucille’s waist, picked up her bag, “Grandma, Lucille and I will head back now, we’ll visit you another day.”

Aydan still had to stay in the village today, waved with a smile, “Bye, Lucille, I’ll contact you when I’m back in the city.”

Hearing this, Cedrick tightened his grip on Lucille’s waist.

Once out of the house, he quickened his pace. Lucille couldn’t keep up at all; it felt like she was being dragged along.

When they reached where he parked, he opened the car door, shoved her in, then quickly got into the driver’s seat, locked the doors, and his expression darkened rapidly.

“Lucille, you’re something.”

His voice carried a threatening and restrained anger.

Lucille flashed back to the lipstick marks on his neck and shirt, sneered, “Not as good as you.”

His hands rested on the steering wheel, fingers long and slender. On the ring finger of his left hand, there was a ring.

His wedding ring had been taken off since the night the wedding ceremony ended. So what was he wearing now?

She smiled faintly and extended her own hand.

On her ring finger was a jade ring, the stone not too big, suitable for daily wear.

This was the wedding ring she chose. The reason she didn’t buy a large diamond ring or a big jade ring was that she wanted to wear it all the time; a smaller one was more suitable for daily use. Plus, it was a pair of rings; his was also jade.

She struggled to take off her ring because it had been worn for five years without ever being removed, so it was too tight.

Cedrick watched her action and instinctively hid his left hand.

She placed the ring on the dashboard, still with a faint smile, “Cedrick, care to explain when your ring changed color?”

“It’s just for fun, no need to take it seriously.”

He said it with complete indifference, yet didn’t remove the ring.

Lucille let out a soft laugh, saying nothing more.
