Chapter 282 The Porcelain Girl and the Parade
Ginnie’s hand clenched slightly at her side. She forced a smile. “I only came to visit Madam Tessa.”
Lucas nodded faintly. “Since you’re here for my grandmother, then take your time chatting.”
With that, he turned to Sloane and spoke gently, “Molly made your favorite dishes. Let’s go have breakfast.”
Sloane glanced at Ginnie, her tone mild. “Shouldn’t you be heading to the press conference soon?”
“It’s just a small event. No need to rush,” Lucas said as he guided Sloane toward the dining room.
As Sloane passed Ginnie, her lips curved faintly, a subtle glint of amusement flashing in her eyes.
After breakfast, Lucas personally drove Sloane to the university gates.
The moment Jill heard Sloane was back, she sprinted out of campus like a madwoman.
When she spotted Sloane stepping out of the car, she practically jumped with joy.
She dashed over in three giant strides and threw her arms around Sloane, her voice filled with irrepressible excitement. “Sloane! You’re finally back! I missed you so much!”
Sloane nearly got the wind knocked out of her and patted Jill’s back with a smile. “I missed you too.”
Lucas hurried over, looking alarmed. “Jill, be careful. Sloane might be cured, but she’s still recovering.”
He was treating her like she was made of porcelain
Jill quickly let go, scanning Sloane up and down with concern. “You okay? Did I hurt you?”
Sloane chuckled, her tone light. “I’m fine. I’m just a little weak, not made of glass. You don’t have to be so
nervous.”
Jill sighed in relief but quickly turned serious. “Still, you can’t take any chances while you’re healing.”
Lucas nodded in agreement. He looked at Jill with sincerity. “Jill, I’m counting on you to help take care of
Sloane for now,”
His tone carried weight, and his gaze was full of trust.
Jill slapped her chest with pride. “Leave it to me! I swear, she won’t even lose a strand of hair on my
watch!”
Sloane looked at the two of them acting like they were guarding a national treasure and burst into laughter. “You two are being ridiculous. I’m not some terminal case.”
She was just recovering, not helpless.
After repeating several more instructions, Lucas finally got back in the car and headed to the press conference.

Jill linked arms with Sloane as they strolled toward campus. She glanced back at Lucas’s retreating car and muttered, “At least the man still has a conscience.”
