Chapter 319 Fake Praise Feels Too Loud
The night the program aired, Stonebridge’s medical community was shaken. After consultations, specialists at major hospitals all admitted defeat; three days later, a bombshell swept through the city-
“Mysterious Dr. Bonnie makes a move! Rare pediatric case shows miraculous improvement!”
Meanwhile, in the president’s office at Hawthorne Group, Samson burst through the door. “Lucas! Did you see the news? Dr. Bonnie actually cured the kid! Now the whole city’s saying her skills are even better than Sloane’s!”
Lucas stared at the flood of comments scrolling across his screen, his gaze growing colder by the second.
At the top of the comment section, a few suspiciously orchestrated posts had been pushed up: “Ha, now that Sloane’s famous and clinging to Hawthorne Group, she’s forgotten us ordinary people.”

Samson gaped at him. “Lucas, they’re clearly targeting Sloane! You’re just going to let them smear her?”
Lucas drummed his fingers lightly against the desk, a glint of frost in his eyes. “What’s the rush? Let the bullet fly a little longer.”
He picked up his phone and dialed. “Conor, how’s Sloane?”
Conor’s hearty laugh came through the line. “Her experiment’s at the most critical stage-she’s so busy she doesn’t even answer my calls. Don’t worry though; I’ve got people watching over her in secret.”
When the call ended, Lucas pulled up a data sheet on his computer. “Look here-Consuela Pharmaceutical’s cash flow over the past three months.”
Samson leaned closer, eyes widening. “They’re secretly buying up shares in multiple pharma companies?”
“Not just that.” Lucas let out a cold laugh. “They’re developing an anti-cancer drug that’s nearly identical to 1/2
