Adrian rushed back to the Rivers estate, and Marshall, who had already heard the news, had returned from the office as well.
“What the hell is going on? Why would the police take Boone away for no reason?” Marshall’s eyes were wide with fury as he looked at Conrad and Adrian the moment they stepped through the door. His voice was tight with barely restrained anger and anxiety.
Adrian stepped forward, his face serious. “Dad, the police said Boone’s suspected of dangerous driving that caused serious injury.”
Helen collapsed onto the couch the moment she heard it, covering her face as she sobbed. “That’s impossible! Boone would never do something like that! Someone must be framing him. You have to think of something–please!”
Her eyes were filled with despair and helplessness, tears slipping through her fingers nonstop.
Conrad’s face turned red with rage. He began pacing back and forth, shouting, “I knew someone was targeting the Rivers family on purpose! Probably one of those business rivals. They see us doing well and pull some dirty trick like this!”
Marshall let out a cold snort, his gaze sharp. “Now’s not the time to talk about that. Adrian, you’re a lawyer. What do we/do?”
Adrian paused, thinking for a moment. “The most urgent thing is for me to go to the station and speak to Boone in person–hear what he has to say. At the same time, I’ll have the top legal team at the firm conduct a thorough review of the evidence the police have. We should also start our own investigation into the case, see if we can find anything that could help Boone.”
Conrad jumped in immediately, “I’ll start calling people too. I’ll use every connection I have if I have to. We’re getting Boone out no matter what.”
Marshall’s eyes darkened. “If this isn’t handled right, the Rivers family’s reputation will be ruined. The company’s stock is going to take a hit too.”
