She had said I should bring him home, and I did. The ashes of my father rode with me in the urn when I returned to my kingdom.

At the royal stable I alighted, then went straight to the catacombs. Many tombs lined the hall; my father’s niche was empty.

Lycans bury their dead, we do not burn them, but I wanted him to suffer. That was why I have lit the torch, watched his body burn to ash, and placed the urn where he never belonged.

Hades read the letters, then looked up slowly.
