The Sleeper's Wrath and His Wife's Strike novel Chapter 157

Yves didn’t bother replying to the message. Instead, he headed straight for the Design Department. There was no other reason—just as Cheryl had said, it was always easier to smooth things over when a woman was in a good mood.

Less than five minutes later, Yves arrived at his destination.

Mr. Wilson spotted him and was about to greet him, but Yves gave a subtle shake of his head. Mr. Wilson understood immediately and pretended not to notice Yves at all.

Yves made a beeline for Lindsay’s desk, and Mr. Wilson couldn’t help but glance at Lindsay a few more times than usual.

Then, sweeping his gaze across the entire Design Department, Mr. Wilson’s tone turned icy as he spoke up.

“If anyone here has been harassing my wife, step forward now. You can’t run from this—I already have someone pulling the security footage.”

There were no cameras in the restroom itself, of course, but there was one right outside the door.

The thought made Naomi’s blood run cold. Her hands shaking, she fumbled for her phone and shot off a desperate message to Lester, begging for help.

“So you’re all just going to keep silent and play dumb? Fine. You’ll regret it soon enough,” Mr. Wilson’s voice rose, growing sharper with anger. “I was willing to let this slide since you’re all part of Bloom, but if you won’t cooperate, don’t blame me for what happens next.”

“If you won’t settle this quietly, we’ll do it the official way. I’ll let the police handle it.”

If the police got involved, Naomi’s actions would be considered premeditated assault. There’d be no avoiding detention and fines—maybe even jail time, if things got worse.

Panic-stricken, Naomi paced in circles, waiting desperately for Lester to reply to her messages. But Lester, always one to act tough, ignored her pleas completely.

Out of options, she finally texted Joseph for help.

Joseph, for all his faults, genuinely cared. Even while lying in a hospital bed in agony, the moment he heard Naomi needed him, he forced himself to check out early, pain be damned.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wilson had already called the police, and his assistant had retrieved the security footage.

“Bring in a projector—I want everyone to see exactly who did this,” Mr. Wilson ordered, handing a flash drive to the department manager.

The manager hurried to comply.
