“Ivan?”

Hearing his cries, Hannah sat up from under her blanket.

She saw Ivan’s face drained of all color.

She seemed rather annoyed as she asked, “What’s wrong with you now? Does it still hurt?”

“Ugh!” Ivan clutched his quilt, gripping the bed rail for support.

All of a sudden, his body stiffened.

He collapsed flat on the bed, motionless.

“Ivan! Are you okay?”

Only then did Hannah realize something was amiss.

She scrambled down from her bunk, rushed to his side, and reached out to shake him.

The moment her hand touched him, she froze.

His body was as cold as a corpse.

“Ivan!”

She hadn’t been close to him growing up.

Unlike older brothers who doted on their sisters, Ivan had fought with her–snatching toys, stealing food, never giving in, even hitting her when she annoyed him.

Shock turned to rage, and Hannah shrieked at Theresa, “You killed my brother! You beat him to death!”

Ivan, who had seemed lifeless in bed, suddenly sat upright with a stiff, jerky motion.

His skin was drained of blood, and his face was ghostly pale.

Like a puppet without a soul, his head lolled to one side as he turned, revealing a pair of cloudy, pupil–less zombie eyes.

“Roar!”

With a feral snarl, Ivan lunged straight at Hannah.

At once, Tyler yanked her down to the floor.

From the bed, Ivan scrambled down like a spider, his hands and feet clawing the ground as he pounced.

On the floor, Hannah and Tyler recoiled in terror as they scrambled backward.

Others leapt from their bunks, climbing higher or retreating further into the room.

Screams echoed everywhere.

Just as the zombie was about to sink its teeth into Hannah, the door burst open.

A group of men in white coats stormed inside, and a large net dropped precisely over Ivan.
