The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 796

Sammie’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, his palm still resting gently on her lower abdomen. The warmth of his touch was a constant reminder of just how little space separated them.

At last, he spoke, his voice lower and rougher than usual. “Miss Rebecca, just lie down for a while. If I massage your stomach, you’ll feel better.”

But Rebecca didn’t let go of his hand. In fact, her grip tightened.

She lifted her gaze, meeting his eyes with a look that held a flicker of hurt—and, perhaps, a glimmer of hope she didn’t even realize herself. “I don’t want a stomach massage. I just want to know… am I nothing more to you than ‘Miss Rebecca’? Is that really all?”

The car fell completely silent. The only sound was the faint hum of the air conditioning.

Sammie met her earnest gaze, and for a moment, it felt as if something had struck his heart, leaving his fingertips tingling. He knew he shouldn’t waver, but being this close to her, for the first time, he felt his composure slipping.

He drew a slow breath and gently pulled away.

“If you’re feeling ill, I’ll take you to the hospital.”

Rebecca’s expression turned cold. “Take me home.”

Nexus Prime greeted the morning with a cool, damp breeze.

Dressed in a crisp white blouse and carrying her laptop, Danielle stood before the imposing entrance of the Aerospace Institute. She paused, taking a deep breath to steady her nerves—this was her first official day at her new job since leaving Northridge City.

Inside, the halls buzzed with colleagues in matching blue uniforms. As Danielle made her way in, unfamiliar faces glanced her way, curiosity flickering in their eyes.
