“Wolfe, start by running diagnostics on the current drone hardware. I need a list of components that need improvement.”
“Kaylee, I want you to analyze the city’s fire incident data from the past five years—focus on high-rise fires, especially the unique challenges and obstacles in emergency response.”
“Let’s lay the groundwork first. Once we have a preliminary proposal, we’ll bring the rest of the team into the loop.”
The three of them looked at Danielle, their earlier hesitation melting away as her confidence set the tone.
Larkin nodded right away. “Got it, Chief Engineer Crawford. I’ll have the literature review compiled before the end of the day!”
Wolfe thumped his chest with a grin. “Leave the hardware tests to me—I’ll have your report by tomorrow!”
Kaylee smiled too. “I’ll get started on data analysis this afternoon. I should have the first round of stats for you in three days.”
Watching her team dive into action, Danielle felt a quiet warmth blossom in her chest.
She knew there was no shortcut to changing people’s prejudices. The only way forward was to prove herself, one solid result at a time.
She opened her laptop and started sketching out the initial drone design.
The wings would need to fold, allowing for takeoff in cramped hallways. The body should be reinforced with heat-resistant materials to survive extreme fire conditions. The sensors had to be upgraded to a dual infrared and visible light system, ensuring precise location of fire sources even through thick smoke...
Sunlight streamed through the window, spilling across her blueprints, illuminating Danielle’s focused profile.
Her fingers flew across the keyboard as the design took shape, detail by detail.
Meanwhile, outside the conference room, in the engineering department’s open office, Engineer Lynch lounged at his desk, scrolling through messages about the meeting’s empty turnout. A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
He sipped his coffee with quiet satisfaction.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
