Tessa nodded. “Exactly, Susan got arrested, the Reed Group went bankrupt, and Patrick probably can’t even afford to keep that other family of his afloat.”

“The entire Reed family’s down to just Jonathan now. And Lillian’s in the worst shape of all.”

Whenever Lillian came up, Tessa couldn’t help the satisfaction that laced her voice.

“And then there’s Ethan–used to treat Lillian like she was his true love. Look at them now; what a perfect pair,”

The Keene family and that snob Madeline used to think Lillian wasn’t good enough for Ethan.
