Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 126

Eleanor clenched her fists, her voice tinged with anger. “Aurora, I’m not joking with you.”

Aurora glanced at the time, catching the announcement that her flight was about to board. The corners of her lips curled up. “Eleanor, instead of making these fake threats, why don’t you just go in and tell Mom and Dad the truth? Admit that you were the one who pushed Samuel to steal the formula for you—then Samuel wouldn’t have to leave the country, would he?”

Such a simple, direct solution. But Eleanor wouldn’t dare, of course. She preferred to let Samuel take the fall and keep her own hands clean.

Eleanor would never confess outright—not when Samuel had already promised to keep her secret.

“Aurora, stop making things up.”

“Making things up?” Aurora let out a short laugh. “The Quinns have never been involved in the fragrance business. Why would Samuel suddenly take an interest in a perfume researcher? And how did he just happen to know that person would have access to the lab?”

Eleanor’s expression faltered.

Aurora strolled away, feeling satisfied. She’d come here for one reason only: to make life difficult for the Quinns. With her goal achieved, she didn’t see any reason to waste more words on Eleanor.

Eleanor bit her lip, her eyes blazing with resentment. She turned, ready to head back inside, only to find herself face-to-face with Jordan’s furious gaze.

A wave of unease swept over her. “Dad…”

Jordan had come out looking for her. Samuel was about to board, and he’d asked Eleanor to see her brother off. He hadn’t expected to overhear such a conversation. He could hardly believe it—the formula leak was Eleanor’s doing?

His beloved daughter, the one he’d spoiled since childhood, had betrayed the son he trusted most.

“Aurora’s words—are they true?”

Eleanor shook her head frantically. “Dad, Aurora’s just trying to drive a wedge between us.”

Jordan’s eyes were cold as ice. He might have been blind to it before, but now, with the seed of doubt planted, it all made sense.

Jordan was so furious that a vein throbbed at his temple. He shouted, “Maybe you should ask her what she’s done! If we’re ruined one day, it’ll be because of her!”

Eleanor wept, hiding behind her mother. “How could you believe Aurora’s lies? She wants nothing more than to see our family fall apart.”

Jordan’s breath came fast and heavy. He couldn’t trust Eleanor anymore, but that didn’t mean he fully believed Aurora, either. Eleanor had a point—Aurora would love nothing more than to destroy the Quinns. Stirring up trouble was exactly her style.

Meanwhile, Aurora left the airport and checked the time. She headed straight to the salon Mr. Hogan Chambers had booked for her. Tonight’s banquet was important to him—he’d arranged for the best stylist to help her prepare.

Two hours later, Aurora gazed at her reflection. Her long black hair was swept up beneath a diamond-encrusted tiara; her off-the-shoulder white gown sparkled with tiny gems, shimmering beneath the lights.

Elegant. Beautiful.

She lifted her skirt and turned, only to meet Daniel’s gentle gaze. He’d arrived long ago, quietly taking in her every detail, completely captivated by her beauty.
