Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 343

Monica remembered David mentioning that the only reason she’d managed to walk free from the police station was thanks to this aunt—Donna—pulling strings behind the scenes.

She swallowed her temper and offered Donna a polite thank you.

Then she turned her attention to Eleanor, and her tone turned sharp.

“I’m letting you off the hook this time, for Aunt Donna’s sake. But if you end up in my hands again, I swear you’ll wish you’d never been born.”

Donna simply shook her head, smiling gently, slipping into the role of the benevolent elder with practiced ease.

Monica left the hospital room.

Donna’s smile faded as she walked over to Eleanor’s bedside, looking down at her.

Eleanor slipped out of Mrs. Quinn’s arms and murmured, “Aunt Donna.”

Smack!

Donna withdrew her hand, her voice icy. “Idiot.”

Eleanor clutched her cheek, not daring to make a sound.

Mrs. Quinn finally collected herself and stepped between them. “How can you just hit her like that?”

Donna’s stare was frigid. “Out.”

Two bodyguards promptly ushered Mrs. Quinn out, leaving only Donna and Eleanor in the room.

Eleanor bit her lip and slowly slid off the bed, her long hair hiding the fear on her face.

“Aunt Donna…”

Donna walked over to the sofa and sat, all her earlier warmth replaced by a steely edge.

“Eleanor, I never realized just how stupid you are.”

Eleanor clenched her fists, her cheeks burning with shame, but she didn’t dare talk back.

“Your only job right now is to get back into the Chambers family,” Donna snapped. “And yet here you are, still lying in a hospital bed. What are you waiting for? A royal parade to carry you home?”

Eleanor hung her head, trying to explain. “I… I didn’t mean to, I just…”

“Didn’t mean to?” Donna cut her off, seeing right through her. “You’re waiting for Daniel to come get you, aren’t you? Eleanor, do you really think you’re still the Eleanor he used to love?”

“If I were Daniel, after everything you’ve pulled, I’d have thrown you out myself.”
