Before, Verena only knew that Odette was Drusilla's younger sister, and that was about it.

Verena said, "I didn't say much. She wanted Enoch to do a paternity test with the twins, and I said sure, but if the kids are Taylors, Enoch has to marry me! — Well, actually, marry you!"

"Verena," Drusilla said, "don’t you remember that you promised not to stir up trouble?"

"I'm not stirring up trouble!" Verena protested. "I was just looking out for you. I never imagined you'd actually marry Enoch. If that’s the case, I just wanted to see what he looked like. He probably thinks I'm after him so he seems so annoyed by me."

"He must be pretending," Drusilla said. "Knowing Enoch, even if he knew those kids were his, he wouldn't let their mother marry into the family. So he used me as his shield because he thinks you're a scammer."

"But he seems like a decent guy," Verena said. "It’s just that he’s in wheelchair. Didn't you say there's hope for his condition? If he really doesn't mind your past and if he's willing to care for Colton and Cormac... wouldn't you be even a little bit moved?"

Verena's question caught Drusilla off guard. She said, "That's impossible! You don't know him. I'm a divorced woman; he could never like me."
