At six in the evening, Drusilla found herself alone on the swing in the backyard. She hadn’t been at home for a long time. Everything around her was soaked in memories of her childhood, yet it all felt so different now.
Back in the day, she did whatever she pleased in this house, but now, there was a new queen bee making her life miserable.
Hestia stepped out of the house and upon seeing Drusilla lost in thought on the swing, she couldn't help but ask, "Drusilla, why hasn't Enoch shown up yet? Don't tell me he's not coming?"
She knew it. Given Drusilla's standing in the Taylor family, summoning Enoch would be a miracle. It was more likely Drusilla wanted to come back using Enoch's name as her ticket.
Drusilla glanced at her watch, noting it was already six. "Maybe he's stuck in traffic. You know, rush hour."
"It's Saturday," Hestia retorted, giving her a look that screamed 'Are you kidding me?'
Clearly, Drusilla was grasping at straws.
"All we can do is wait," Drusilla replied. She didn’t want to waste her time explaining, but Enoch wasn't one to break promises.
If he said he'd come, then he'd surely show up, right?
Hestia was left speechless by Drusilla's attitude and went back inside.
Drusilla, still on the swing, decided to give Oberon a call.
"On the way," he assured her.
Standing up, she decided to take a stroll outside.
Hestia peeked through the window, watching her leave. A part of her was worried. She thought that if Drusilla was making her run around for nothing, she'd never forgive her.
...
Twenty minutes later, Enoch's car pulled up to the driveway.
Drusilla stood by the entrance, her back against a wall of blooming vines, resembling a fairy drowned in flowers, though a rather disheveled one at that.
