That useless Enoch? No way!
Drusilla shot back, "Why don’t you say that to Enoch yourself?"
She knew Hestia was powerless against her now! All Hestia could do was vent in front of her.
Not wanting to waste more time with Hestia, Drusilla turned on her heel, went downstairs, and returned to the backyard.
The evening brought a cool breeze in the yard, making it much more bearable.
Willa, having packed up her things, came outside and shot Drusilla, who was lazily swinging on the porch swing, a few nasty looks before storming off with her backpack slung over her shoulder.
Drusilla kicked at the deck absentmindedly and let herself swing a little.
Somehow, her mood was inexplicably lifted! She couldn't deny that having Enoch, a major support, made life seem not so bad!
Lifting her gaze, she noticed the light from her father’s study. She wondered what Enoch and her dad were discussing.
...
Inside the study, Leander said to Enoch, “Sorry to bother you, Mr. Taylor, for calling you over.”
Enoch, sensing Leander’s respectful tone, which lacked the usual condescension of speaking to someone younger, replied, “You’re Drusilla’s father. It’s only right I show you respect.”
Leander, hearing this, said, “I called you here to say that, perhaps, it’s best if you and Drusilla got a divorce.”
Enoch’s expression darkened, “What did you say? Mr. Lawson, I’m being polite out of respect for your daughter. Please don’t push it.”
The whole debacle with Odette was enough reason for Enoch to have a bone to pick with Leander!
