The reason she asked this was purely out of concern for what Drusilla feared most - entrusting their children to the Taylor family if Enoch wasn't reliable. Drusilla's hesitation to let the kids return to the Taylor family was due to her distrust in Enoch, so Verena decided to clear the air on her behalf.
