Enoch and Oberon stepped out of Verena's house, with Oberon turning to Enoch and asking, "By the way, Mr. Taylor, where's your wife?"
With a stern face, Enoch replied, "Gave her a piece of my mind, and she stormed off. It was just about her not needing to involve herself in unnecessary matters."
As for Verena, he could handle on his own.
Drusilla making a scene was of no benefit to her.
Upon hearing Enoch's words, Oberon commented, "Seems like Mrs. Taylor doesn't want the kids returning to the Taylors, huh? I get she's fond of you, but this seems a bit much. They're your own kids!"
Enoch bristled at Oberon's words, retorting, "Since when is my wife's business any of your concern?"
Oberon was taken aback.
My bad! He thought.
Damn, even as an outsider, Oberon thought Drusilla's reaction was over the top, yet Enoch didn't seem inclined to blame Drusilla.
Mr. Taylor was perhaps too lenient with Drusilla!
He wanted to remind Mr. Taylor that she was just a divorcee, and it was just a fake marriage.
But seeing Enoch's expression, he thought better of it, fearing Enoch would accuse him of meddling.
Once they were in the car, Oberon asked, "Are we heading straight home?"
"To Drusilla's. We haven't done the acupuncture session from last night and today yet!"
She stormed off in a huff without completing her work - how irresponsible!
Instead of heading straight home after leaving Verena's, Drusilla's resolve to take the kids and flee was only strengthened by Enoch's words.
She couldn't count on Enoch anymore. She had to quickly figure out a way to move from this place in the next couple of days.
Before heading home, she went house hunting, knowing that living in the same place after Enoch knew where she stayed was not an option.
Enoch might send someone after her!
