Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 4

"Thanks for the gift, love ya!" Cormac said, flashing a hand heart.

Drusilla couldn't help but smile, watching his mischievous yet adorable antics.-

Despite the tough times she'd faced because of her boys, seeing Colton and Cormac growing up made it all feel worth it.

Verena Garner walked in through the front door, glanced at Drusilla still lounging around, and exclaimed, "You're still here!"

Standing up, Drusilla replied, "I wanted to wait for you before heading out."

"Don't let me keep you; hurry up or you'll be late. You know how important this job is. I went through a lot of trouble to get it for you," Verena chided her in a motherly fashion, nudging Drusilla towards the door.

As Drusilla was putting on her shoes, Colton rushed over. "Mom?"

Colton was less talkative compared to Cormac, often sitting quietly during live streams, which oddly enough, made him quite popular online. His cool demeanor had its own fan base!

Seeing his mom getting ready to leave, Colton wanted to tag along.

Drusilla ruffled his hair gently, comforting him, "Stay with Auntie Verena, okay? I will be back soon."

Verena had taken a day off to help look after the kids, a gesture for which Drusilla was immensely grateful. She considered herself lucky to have such a friend. Without Verena, those early days alone in the hospital with her newborns would have been unbearable.

Despite their playful bickering, Drusilla considered Verena the best friend anyone could ask for.
