Lilith's commitment to defending Harlan was clear as day.
Catching a glimpse of Harlan, who sat quietly to one side, not uttering a word, but simply allowing Lilith to stand up for her, Drusilla couldn't help but smirk, "So, your hubby told you that, huh? Maybe you should ask him why he's suddenly lost his voice."
Lilith glanced at Harlan and responded, "That's because he's a gentleman, unwilling to stoop to your level."
"When he had issues with me before, it wasn't just once or twice. Miss Lilith, are you sure you truly know the man beside you?"
"Of course, I know him. He's the best man in the world," Lilith declared.
"Did he ever tell you that he was married before?" Drusilla turned to Harlan.
Frowning and clearly irritated, Harlan said tersely, "Drusilla, watch your words."
"What should I be watching? Are you saying I'm falsely accusing you?" Drusilla was all in now.
Harlan clenched his fists tightly, facing Lilith, he admitted, "Yes, I was married once."
"Why didn't you tell me? You lied to me?" Lilith was taken aback, as she had been kept in the dark, and even Harlan's family hadn't mentioned it.
Sitting aside, Enoch raised an eyebrow at Harlan. The Taylor family had always been skeptical of Lilith's choice, mainly due to Harlan’s modest background and his overly smooth demeanor, which to them felt insincere.
Now, this revelation added a new layer of drama!
